Weston McKennie provides the box-to-box energy Pochettino values most in central midfield — his Juventus experience has sharpened his tactical awareness and his ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch. Tyler Adams, when fit, provides the defensive midfield anchor who allows the more attacking players to operate with freedom.

Yunus Musah brings dynamism and technical quality, while Gio Reyna — finally staying fit — adds genuine creativity and the ability to unlock deep defences. If Pochettino can keep all these players healthy and integrated, the USMNT midfield could be one of the tournament's most energetic units.
