INEOS Takeover and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Project
When INEOS acquired OGC Nice in 2019, it signalled the arrival of a new kind of owner in French football — a British petrochemical billionaire with a sporting vision informed by science, data, and long-term thinking. Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s company brought methodical investment: a new training facility, data science infrastructure, and a recruitment philosophy focused on identifying undervalued talent.
