AT&T Stadium World Cup 2026

AT&T Stadium — universally known as Jerry World — is one of the most spectacular sports venues ever built. Home of the Dallas Cowboys, the Arlington, Texas stadium is a cathedral of American sport: a retractable roof, 80,000 permanent seats expandable to 100,000+, and the world's largest high-definition video board hanging over the pitch. World Cup 2026 brings the global game to one of the NFL's most iconic arenas.

THE RETRACTABLE ROOF

All-Weather Protection

AT&T Stadium's retractable roof means World Cup 2026 matches in Dallas will be played in a controlled environment — no matter what Texas summer weather brings. The roof can be opened or closed within minutes and is made of translucent material that allows natural light to filter in even when closed. For June/July World Cup matches, the roof-closed air-conditioned environment will be a major comfort advantage over open-air venues.

Retractable walls at the end zones can also be opened on milder days, allowing a hybrid indoor-outdoor atmosphere. FIFA will determine roof configuration based on weather forecasts for each match day.

ART COLLECTION

The World's Largest Indoor Art Gallery

Owner Jerry Jones has made AT&T Stadium genuinely unique among sports venues by filling it with over $50 million worth of commissioned contemporary art — including works by Ellsworth Kelly, Trenton Doyle Hancock, and a 40-foot bronze sculpture by artist Lawrence Argent in the west end zone. The stadium is legitimately one of the largest collections of contemporary art in Texas.

World Cup visitors coming for the football will be walking through a world-class art gallery. It is part of what makes AT&T Stadium unlike any other sports arena on the 2026 host city roster.

Getting to AT&T Stadium — Dallas/Arlington Transport Guide

LOCATION

Arlington: Between Dallas and Fort Worth

AT&T Stadium is located in Arlington, Texas — roughly midway between downtown Dallas (20 miles east) and downtown Fort Worth (15 miles west). This mid-cities location means the stadium is accessible from both city cores, but Arlington itself does not have a rail connection to either city. This is one of the venue's logistical challenges for an international event like the World Cup.

For World Cup 2026, the organizers and city of Arlington are expected to implement dedicated shuttle buses from both Dallas Love Field airport, DFW International Airport, downtown Dallas (DART rail connections), and downtown Fort Worth. Confirm routes via the official WC2026 transport pages.

DRIVING AND PARKING

Car is King in Arlington

Unlike New York or Los Angeles, Arlington is predominantly a car-dependent city and driving is the most common way to reach AT&T Stadium. The stadium sits on I-30 between Dallas and Fort Worth with direct freeway access. On-site parking lots hold thousands of vehicles — but for World Cup matches, pre-booking is essential and prices will be premium.

Rideshare designated zones will be confirmed closer to the tournament. Hotels within Arlington — including several within walking distance of the stadium in the AT&T Entertainment District — will be premium accommodation for World Cup visitors. Book early; Dallas-Fort Worth hotel inventory moves fast for major events.

AT&T Entertainment District — The Fan Village

The area surrounding AT&T Stadium has been developed into an entertainment hub known as the AT&T Entertainment District — home to multiple major sporting and entertainment venues within walking distance:

Globe Life Field

Home of the Texas Rangers — a brand-new MLB stadium (opened 2020) with a retractable roof, directly adjacent to AT&T Stadium. The Rangers won the 2023 World Series here. Will provide additional fan programming and hospitality during WC2026.

Six Flags Over Texas

One of the original Six Flags theme parks is located within the entertainment district — within reasonable walking distance of the stadium. Families attending World Cup matches will have adjacent entertainment options before and after games.

The Esports Stadium

The Arlington Esports Stadium — the largest purpose-built esports arena in North America — is also in the district. The venue regularly hosts gaming events for 100,000+ attendees. An emerging landmark that adds to the district's claim as one of America's great entertainment hubs.
