100 Days Out Special: U.S. Starting XI + Brian McBride Interview + World Cup Power Rankings
World Cup 2026 expectations
I'd love to see them make a semifinal and then have this country get completely behind a group of players. You just have another level of confidence, another level of energy.
Dual-national recruitment
It's a difficult decision regarding my nationality. I'm very torn. I'm in contact with both the USA and Germany and both national coaches. I don't want to make it dependent on a World Cup.
I'm not naive. He, as many dual nationals or tri-nationals do, they're weighing and balancing the pros and cons of both sides. But again, ultimately, you have to feel something that goes beyond the kicking of the ball.
World Cup 2026 Power Rankings
I'm giving you my 100 days out power rankings... Number 10, USA. And the reason for that is I mean it not crazy to put USA here in the top 10. This is a home World Cup. And I think that is relative to the fact that they are going to find some magic.
I could have put England higher, but I'm going to put them at five. And they should thank me because they don't want any pressure because I do think that they will wilt and fold under pressure.
USMNT starting striker
I would start Flo [Balogun]... I think form is a big thing. And if you're playing and you're on form, you have just that flow on the field. I just think he's got more of what we need than, say, Ricardo Pepi.
USMNT mentality
I don't think we threw the baby out with the bathwater. I do think there's still grit in there. There might be less just because I think there's more talent in the youth ranks. So for coaches and teams to pull players in, they see that talent rather than the development of grit.
Christian Pulisic form
I'm not worried about Christian Pulisic. He's still getting in good positions. He's just been wasteful of late. But I think when he represents the U.S. this summer, he'll be able to flip that switch again.
World Cup 2026 Golden Boot prediction
I think it's safe money when it comes to Harry Kane in terms of Golden Boot this summer.
2002 World Cup team
Bruce first came in and said, we are going to compete to win every single match. And that brought us sort of like, okay, this is the mentality we want to have. But I think the biggest part of it was it was a family.
