USMNT injury update
Sergino Dest went down in a game for PSV against AZ on Sunday in the Eredivisie. He left in the 55th minute and then had to come off with a hamstring injury. This is not the kind of thing that he's going to recover from in the super short term.
Christian Pulisic form
I am most worried about Christian Pulisic. There's no denying that we are not currently seeing the Pulisic who looked like the best player in Italy in the first half of the season. He hasn't scored in 2026.
Christian Pulisic injury
Max Allegri came out and said that Pulisic is dealing with something called bursitis. It is apparently an inflammation of fluid-filled sacks near joints and Pulisic is near his hip. He just hasn't been healthy.
Tim Ream defensive concerns
I'm a little bit stuck by Tim Ream. The way that Ream was dusted by Gabriel Pec and the Galaxy attackers in open space is far from ideal. Can we really trust Ream at the World Cup when the US will probably face better attackers?
Gio Reyna injury status
Gio Reyna is still mostly a concept of a soccer player more than he actually is a soccer player. He's in the part of his cycle where he's not playing ball right now and that hurts.
Benjamin Cremaschi development
Benjamin Cremaschi made his first Serie A start for Parma. He looked physically up to the level, which is really good to see. If anything, he looked quite imposing physically, which is a good sign for him.
USMNT tactical concerns
If Pulisic and Tillman are out, you're looking at McKennie probably in one of those half spaces. It's a shame because I've been really eager to see McKennie used deeper for the U.S. because I think you can do more cool stuff on the ball when you have McKennie plus two half-space attackers.
Austin Trusty performance
Austin Trusty has frankly been atrocious this season. But he saved his performance of the season for one of Celtic's biggest games away to Rangers on Sunday. He was a brick wall when Celtic needed him to be.
Chris Richards form
I enjoyed Chris Richards this weekend. To see Richards over the years go from kind of like an occasional spot starter to the junior member of the back line who was definitely there for athleticism, to now moving into that more senior central figure position, it's very exciting.
Austin Trusty transfer speculation
I think the English Championship is where I see Austin Trusty this time next year. When CCV has been out this season, Trusty's looked lost. He just does not look comfortable.
