Gab and Juls: Man City triumph over Arsenal in League Cup final
Premier League title race
I think that big clash coming up on April 19th, Manchester City against Arsenal at the Etihad, could well decide the title.
I don't think Man City can win every game from now to the end of the season, which I think they probably will have to do. I'm going 90% for Arsenal to win the title.
Chelsea financial investigation
If Chelsea hadn't self-reported the illegal payments, their punishment would have been a two-window transfer ban. That would have really been scandalous.
Arsenal tactical shift
This Arsenal side does not create chances from open play in the same way they did in the early iterations under Arteta. When Odegaard isn't there, it's basically four center backs.
Pep Guardiola / Man City
I think Pep Guardiola realizes that this new team he's trying to build, he's never going to quite do it. He can't control games as he used to.
Manager sacking
I don't have sympathy for Enzo Maresca. He's a manager that hasn't really got the credentials. I don't see where the coaching is coming in.
Managerial market
Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso are going to be the biggest in-demand names in the managerial market this summer.
Tactical analysis
Arsenal had no answer to what Man City were doing. They didn't seem to know whether they should press them or whether they should drop off.
Liverpool defensive form
Van Dijk hasn't made the mistakes, but his positional play has been terrible this season, and his recovery runs have been poor. He blames everybody else around him.
World Cup 2026 / Messi
Messi is always going to have moments of pure magic, but he's got to have a lot of people that are going to do his running for him. When they play against the big teams, I think he might struggle.
Declan Rice analysis
Declan Rice is a fantastic footballer, but he needs somebody with creativity next to him. He's an up-and-downer, but he's not creative.
Brentford recruitment
Brentford's recruitment is remarkable. They look at all clubs around the world and try to bring in players that they can see would be ideal for their system of play.
Refereeing decisions
I wouldn't have sent Valverde off. It was a reckless challenge, but I wouldn't have sent him off.
