Source: Sky Sports Premier League Podcast — Michael Carrick questions 'baffling' penalty decisions as Man Utd pegged back at Bournemouth
Duration: 35 min
Refereeing decisions
Should have had another penalty. If you get one, you must get the other. It's pretty much identical for me, two-hand grab. To give one and not give the other, I just can't get my head around it. It's mental.
Managerial candidates
I'd be amazed if he [Iraola] did stay. I think he is an elite manager. I love the way that Bournemouth play... if he was the one that Manchester United looked at, I think he could definitely do that job.
VAR and refereeing
I know it's difficult for the referee to give two penalties in the same game for the same team, but what I don't understand is why VAR doesn't get involved in that situation... either one is a penalty and the other one too, or none of them is a penalty.
Manager future
I'm really happy here. I have a great relationship with the club and it's true that we will have to take a decision according to this, but this situation is not something new for me.
Refereeing consistency
I think it's human nature to not give the other one [penalty] because he's not given the first one. But I just think that's really hard. There's no difference between the two.
England squad selection
Obviously disappointed, everyone wants to play for their country, but in England there's so many top players. For me now, it's head down, keep focusing, keep performing and hopefully I put myself in the best position possible for the summer.
Manchester United management
Since Michael Carrick has taken over, if you look at those results as a manager, you can't ask for much more. You'd be very, very happy.
Manchester United culture
When you get results, you're going to get your flowers. When you don't get the results, you're going to get the criticism. It's part of being a Man United player.
