The Allianz Arena is located in the north of Munich, approximately 11km from the city centre. The stadium is well served by the U6 metro line — alight at Frottmaning station, which is a short walk from the ground. Dedicated shuttle buses also run from Munich city centre on matchdays.
Stadium History
Home to Bayern Munich since 2005, the Allianz Arena is famous for its distinctive illuminated ETFE plastic panels that can display red, blue or white light. It hosted six matches at the 2006 FIFA World Cup including a quarter-final, and has previously hosted the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final.
Fan Experience
Munich is one of Europe's most liveable and fan-friendly cities. The city centre, Old Town and English Garden provide excellent pre-match atmosphere. Oktoberfest-style beer halls and biergartens make Munich a popular choice for travelling supporters.
