The big question about this whole piece is how much of this boils down to Manchester United just need to start winning at the elite level for everything to be okay. It doesn't matter what Ratcliffe says as long as they start winning.
Glazer ownership/Debt
The really sad thing is that a lot of this is as a result of the fact that the Glazers bought United with a leveraged buyout where they didn't spend any of their own money. It's one of the craziest things I've ever heard in sport.

United's net transfer debt was £287 million in December 2023. Two years on, the figure had risen to £314 million, with £192 million of it due to be paid this year.
Ratcliffe claimed that since his arrival, United had reduced the cost of running the club by about £125 million, so that transforms the club. It looked optimistic at the time and remains so today.

United's average full-time employee numbers fell by 208, which is about 18%, during Ratcliffe's first full season in charge and have dropped further since.
Managerial changes/Cost cutting
You're talking what tens of millions sometimes to sack a manager. That's a lot of savings you have to make from the people at the bottom of the organization in order to justify the mismanagement of the people at the top.
